GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

  • Each person read or summarize the paragraphs you wrote about what you believe about the role of a preceptor.

  • In your group decide on one question about preceptor beliefs that you are interested in. Pose it so that it can be asked along an agree or disagree continuum on what is called a Likkert Scale, where zero means strongly disagree and four means strongly agree. Write that question on an index card.

EXAMPLE:
The preceptor’s role is to make the beginning teacher’s life as miserable as possible.

Circle one number below that best reflects your agreement with the statement.

Decide on another question that you are interested in – information that you want to know about the group that would result in data that you could use to make a graph.

  • Each person take a portion of the names from the roster and survey the group.
  • Gather together, compile and analyze your data.
  • Make a graph that you can present to the group.
